Young Tea Announces Grand Opening of Bellevue Flagship

It’s official: Starting April 1st, you can satisfy your Young Tea cravings in both Seattle and Bellevue.

It’s no April Fool’s joke — nearly ten years to the day since Young Tea first opened its doors in the heart of Seattle’s Chinatown, we’re announcing the grand opening of our new flagship location: Young Tea Bellevue.

Doors open for the first time on April 1st and will stay open from 12-7 p.m. through April 5th. Can’t make it to the soft launch? Join us at our Grand Opening celebration on Sunday, April 6th, from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Since day one, our goal has been to bring healthy, high-quality tea to Seattle’s tea and boba enthusiasts, and we’re so excited to expand that vision to Seattle’s Eastside.

This milestone has been a long time coming — in fact, it’s the culmination of a project that began just over a decade ago.

A Brief History of Young Tea

In April 2015, Young Tea founder Caroline Lee launched the location that would start it all.

From a little walk up on Weller Street and 6th Avenue, she built a beloved brand that played a pivotal role in shaping Seattle’s then-still-emerging boba scene.

Six years later, Young Tea relocated. From our Chinatown roots, we found a new home in the sleepy North Seattle neighborhood of Wallingford.

Through it all, we retained our foundational values: quality tea, natural ingredients, and traditional Taiwanese flavors — all of which we’re proud to share with our community.

Now, we’re bringing it all to Bellevue.

A Sneak Peek of Young Tea Bellevue

Neon letters, pinned in the building’s east-facing picture windows, illuminate the way to Young Tea Bellevue.

Enter the front door and be greeted by cheerful tea ware, carefully curated and even more carefully displayed. On floor-to-ceiling shelves, intricately decorated enamel gaiwans sit shoulder to shoulder with softly curving teapots.

Tea machines whir in the distance, sending floral aromatics through the space. It’s a tea shop built by and for tea lovers — at every turn, tea leaves and brewing implements jump out, waiting to be used.

The space pairs modern design with at-home comfort. Open seating creates areas for conversation; tucked-away corners offer places for quiet work and enjoyment. Throughout, natural light pours in.

A designated tea-tasting space hides in the far corner. There, founder Caroline Lee walks tea novices and life-long enjoyers through traditional brewing and tasting techniques.

Throughout, elements of our original Chinatown and Wallingford locations come together. Young Tea Bellevue is the culmination of ten years of shared passion and community effort — we can’t wait to share it with you.

Join Us in Celebrating Ten Years of Young Tea

Starting April 1st, Young Tea Bellevue will offer old favorites and new items. From classic milk tea and boba drinks, we’re expanding our offerings to include more traditional Taiwanese flavors, including a food menu that will be expanded upon with time.

Pair your favorite milk tea with housemade Taiwanese noodle soup; enjoy a cup of freshly brewed tea with a side of classic desserts like hot grass jelly or tofu pudding — whatever suits your palette.

Whether you’ve been visiting us for a decade or just discovered us, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating this next step on our journey. See you in Bellevue!
